Title: What does it do to save battery?
Post by: Coolmario88 on January 18, 2016, 07:34:50 PM
Hi, I am new to smartphones.. I got an HTC Desire 526 on verizon and i am wondering what will the avast battery saver do exactly? Does it dim the screen if needed, does it close background apps? I wanna know what it does.. I have been having to charge it up every day now.. I was worried that plugging it up when the battery was at 40% at least 4 times might have hurt the battery how long it holds a charge but my friends said don't worry it won't. Can the avast battery saver make 1 full charge of the battery (100% to 15%) last for like 2 days instead of 1?

I rather doubt a battery saver would ever achieve a 100% increase in life as you suggest (from 1day to 2days). It may comfortably get you through the day and a half perhaps.

Most smartphones suggest it will last a day, whilst many will get much less depending on use.

I would suggest that you carry one of the power banks, I have an EasyAcc power bank that has a capacity of 9200 mAh and that can charge my Samsung Galaxy Nexus 3 to 4 times. That should allow you to let the battery get much lower, as you can hook it up whilst out in needed.

That way you should be able to let the battery get lower before fully recharging it.

Is it a bit normal for a battery to last a day since the last time you charged it before needing to be recharged?

For me it is, but it rather depends on A) your phone B) its battery capacity, C) apps installed/running and D) your usage. As you can see there are many permutations that can effect battery life, so we aren't all the same.

I bought a spare battery for my phone so I can condition the battery by running it almost right down change batteries and fully charge the battery off-line.
