Is there a way to scan the computer before windows open when rebooting or starting the computer in the bootup area????
-
Yes it's called a boot time scan... Start avast! antivirus then right click anywhere in the skin and select Schedule boot time scan, it will ask you for a restart click OK and that's it ;)

rayboy Try a repair of Avast
Start/control panel/add remove programs/select Avast/change-repair/ You must be online for the repair to complete--Reboot
and try your boot-time scan again

Yes, Windows ME belongs to Win9x, so the boot-time scanner is really not available there.
