Hi,
Since the 8th february, checking my stats, I noticed a dramatical decrease of the streaming updates.
Before this date, every time I started my computer I received between 160 and 200 updates.
Now, very few. Only 3 or 6.
And when I loock at the updates per 24 hours, I went from an average number of 290 updates/day to 70 at best.
VPS is up to date. Program version too. And I didn't modify my parameters. Should I be worry?
Any explanation is more than welcome.
Thank you.

Should I be worry?
No ....
how do you guys notice this, do you sit and stare at the gui all day when you turn on the computer?
-
I actually agree with the OP here..
You can look at the amount of streaming updates received in the past 24 hours from the statistics > Component Status
Normally this is over lets say 200 normally at least but it hasn't reached past 60+ in the past few days.
-
146 in the past 24H for me
-
Some versions back stream update did not exist and if somone discovered a day with no update it was the end of the world
maybe they are just taking a nap at the virus lab or it is just quiet out there in the malware world. If avast give no error messages evrything should be okay

I've just received 22 in the past 24 hours so it unusual.
It could also be an issue with a streaming update server.
-
Ok, I admit it.
I took all the streaming updates and left nothing for you people ;D
-
I've received 281 during the past 24 hours.
-
I received 66 updates in the past 24 hours. Of course, my laptop was turned off for the past several hours. The VPS updated immediately when I turned it on, which negated the need for all the intermediate streaming updates. I have no concern about the 'missing' streaming updates.

130 in the last 24 hours.
I generally don't look at the stats (until someone posts about it) as I don't feel that the info provided there is particularly informative.
-
Looks like a server problem but only Avast can answer this question. :)
-
No problems here (135 and counting), might be a server issue in your region.

That's what I believe.
BTW, I'm located in Luxembourg (Europe).
Some days ago, I opened a similar topic on the forum in French language.
The couple of people who answered seems to have the same problem.
59 updates in the last 24 hours until now. If this is a server issue, hopefully this wil be fixed.
-
I'm in the UK and I've just got 40 in the past 24 hours.
Seems like it's a server issue.

Since I'm in the UK, I can see no reason why we should have different figures for the last 24hrs (Reply #9).
Of course, the issue really is when does the 24hr period start (local time or avast HQ time), e.g. release from 00:01am Central European Time, balanced out by local time zone +/-.
There are variables which will mean we will see different figures, but those in the same time zone should in theory be the same. But we aren't seeing that.

im in the UK and have had 286 in the last 24 hours

Yep, lots of variables ;D

There are different streaming update servers even if you're in the same country - I'm pretty sure before there was a way to find out the streaming update server which began with ff02 IIRC.
Anyways, I've just got 55 in the past so something is amiss.
The PC has been connected to the internet all the time so it should be getting them.
-
I had 71 before a regular vps update took place.
The regular vps update did some housekeeping.
Other than that I'm not concerned at all. 8)

76 streaming updates since VPS 160213-1.

It must be a server problem then since a lots of people figures are different even when in the same time zones.

I've reported this to Avast. Hope they'll clarify the matter. :)

Guys, listing your results here won't bring much to the party. ;)
If you think that there's a problem in your region/area, report it.

Edit: As Bob already reported it, let's see if we get a reply from the devs here...

The number of updates shown in Avast Statistics on the local machine has nothing to do with reality. Yesterday, with Statistics showing 34 updates in the last 24 hours, at the same time there were 78 updates in the current subfolder of C:\Program Files\AVAST Software\Avast\defs.

btw, @igor explained this problem with statistics in this thread: https://forum.avast.com/?topic=183243.0
