Hi
I have a Windows 8.1 Tablet/laptop.
Recently, I had difficultly using it to surf for some websites using both IE and Chrome.
I could not even proceed to log in at these websites as the log-in links doesn't seem to work.
In addition, advertisements pop-up windows keep on appearing.
I can log into to these problematic websites with a MacBook as per normal.
I tried using the pre-installed Microsoft Defender software and antivirus and malware scans available at Microsoft websites
and they do not show any malware, spyware or virus in my tablet.
The issue still persist after these scans.
Upon recommendation, i decided to try out AVAST Free Antivirus software.
The full system scan results detected 3 virus which were quarantined in the Virus Chest.
In addition, there are 8 files what can't be accessed by the system (error message 1920).
I still have the same issues after these scans
In addition, when i tried to go to AVAST customer support website using my tablet, i encountered the same issues too.
I tried BBC website and encounter the pop up advertisements issue also.
Whenever i tried to click on a link to a news article, the pop up advertisement will appear.
I can surf other websites (e.g. google, yahoo, wikipedia, CNN, etc) as per normal.
Please advise my next course of action.
