Title: Can't create a rescue disc

Running the latest versionbof Avast Internet Security and Avast Cleaner on my Toshiba laptop.  XP SP3.

Tried creating a USB rescue disc.  After five to ten minutes I get "Failed to create Rescue Disc".
When I try to create it on CD it can't see the CD drive even though I get the CD option in the pull down.   :-\
