Folks,
After the latest program update, AVAST free version keeps popping up a message that it needs the system to restart every day. I do the reboot everything comes back up fine and the next day, the same message box comes up again.
Secondly, after this reboot, I cannot pull in any mail using Outlook unless I turn mail scanning off (and then AVAST is unhappy since I don't have full protection on).
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks
Jim

I tried the repair and it seemed to go well. But 2 days later, it is prompting me that Avast needs to restart again.
UGH
Any other ideas? Any log files to look for?
thanks

Scroll down to second picture ... Farbar Reccovery Scan Tool ... run as instructed and attach the two diagnostic logs
See below the box you write in ... Attachments and other options

Ok ..here are the two files....
Thank you for your assistance...

AV: avast! Antivirus (Enabled - Out of date) {7591DB91-41F0-48A3-B128-1A293FD8233D}
FW: Norton Internet Security (Disabled) {825036E0-9F94-4752-8789-8B92454AF49B}
Remove Norton using their tool and then see if that helps

Sorry it took a while (I was away) but I've now uninstalled all the Norton stuff. I'll monitor to see if Avast prompts to reboot again.
Thanks .... i'll respond back either way.

OK ... I took all the Norton stuff off, it still wanted a reboot, so I did another repair, and that portion seems to be OK
The latest is that outlook doesn't want to pull in the e-mail. After a couple of tries, outlook prompted that the Avast plugin was not working, and did I want to start outlook without it. I answered yes, and now outlook is happy again.
We'll see if anything else pops up.
Thanks for the help.
