Title: Advantage from the latest WMF exploit
Post by: TAP on January 05, 2006, 01:43:31 PM
I've seen so many antivirus companies take advantage from the latest WMF exploit such as

http://www.itsecurity.com/security.htm?s=12224&sid=7afa965512b5c3bc975ebaf13c2d1611

I mean to the marketing things, why Alwil didn't do such thing? at least on avast! website so it should make more confidence to common users, we know avast! does protect us against this exploit very well. :)

I've also seen some news on the "Press" section so why it isn't on the front page of avast! website? I think it's better to be here.

Yes, I believe. At least, according to some test results and vlk's comments.

Hi TAP & ReVaN,

With backward compatibility and the way certain codes were multi-program codes the coding bugs of the MS developer team of the eighties, the so called UNDEAD, must be still laying around, waiting to be discovered by the malcreant of to-day. I wonder what other "skeleton" features are being found up in the near future?  WMF must not be the only remnant that still survived?
It better be a good one, and isn't it time for a MS coding overhaul? Read this:
