Title: Possible Virus/Malware Intrusion...
Post by: REDACTED on May 20, 2016, 10:54:14 PM
So I left my PC on last night, and when I turn on the monitor I find a window indicating that I need to upgrade my Yahoo search engine.  Funny, I don't ever use Yahoo, and I don't use any of their services or programs.  SO I'm thinking I contracted some sort of Malware or Virus and run a scan, and the AVAST program tells me I'm clean and safe.  But the window won't close or allow me to cancel.  So I open task manager to force it to end task, but right before I do, I see that the file or program is running from the following command line:

C:\Users\PC1\AppData\Local\{1A352c69-3E9D-40D1-5305-6539776D99A1}\setup.log

Being curious, I open the file using notepad, specifically NotePad++  Here's a link to the txt file...

So can someone tell me if this is some type of file made to install itself onto my PC, then download or install some files, then initiate, and then delete any traces of itself?  Cause that's what it seems like to me.  Can someone tell me otherwise?  If so, what can I do to clear out any residual files or programs that shouldn't be there?
