Title: [BUG] Can't stop notification about 'not completing purchase'
Post by: REDACTED on May 23, 2016, 10:50:17 PM
Hi,

Decided not to go through with the purchase via the in-app offer. Its stuck in my cart, you can't remove it as for some rather silly reason you need one item in your cart [1] ??? Anyway, this logic would be fine, albeit silly if I was able to stop the daily pop up notifications about 'not proceeding with my purchase'.

Any ideas? I guess for the effort of posting this, I could probably uninstall it and reinstall it, but hey ho, probably needs fixing. Unless annoying the hell out of the user is the new Avast business model.  ;)

Avast version: 11.2.2262

Anyway, see the below screenshot:

You are not the first one to ask that question

The notification should go away in a day or 2.
Someone from avast explained it in another thread here.

Hmm, but requiring one item in the cart seems rather deliberate, since on EVERY other website I'm able to clear my basket. Nevertheless if it disappears .. FWIW, I see the idea behind annoying the user for a few days, although the thought this of this mild form of spam has the opposite effect, it makes me not want to renew my subscription. Might just be me being grumpy.  ;)

It will still go away after a couple of days, don't worry about it being in the cart you would have to complete the purchase process for it to take effect.

The real problem is not being able to set the item total in the cart to zero. Whilst the cart isn't empty (as you essentially can't empty it) you will get reminders.

I went into the cart to carry out some testing for another forum question relating to the cart/store, I couldn't zero the quantity, it won't let you set a figure less than 1. But the reminder did go away after a couple of days.
