Title: Disconnected Secure line icon suddenly appeared then disappeared?

Just noticed yesterday that an avast secure line icon (disconnected) suddenly appeared in my task bar then suddenly disappeared without a trace. it was quite odd since I didn't even have avast secure line installed on this pc. Did a Malwarebytes scan, Avast scan and FRST scan and found nothing out of the ordinary.

Any input on this please?

haven't seen it pop out in 2 days though just want to be sure, can anyone check up on my logs? :)

It will increase the change that you get the help with it.

My Apologies, can this thread be transferred though? still wondering why secure line popped out of nowhere all of a sudden.

Gremlin?  ;D May I know what the icon for a disconnected avast (when there is no internet connection?) and the icon for a disconnected avast secure vpn looks like? the icon that popped up looked like a bulb with a red X mark on it and 3 wave marks so I guessed it was something like avast secure vpn.

uhh idk how to say this but I think I found the culprit.. looks like after the update of my avast it added the "Secure Line VPN" to tools, which I just happen to come upon. Looks like it started upon after the first restart or directly after turning on my pc.

really dumbfounded right now lol. Anyways thanks for your help fellas! always appreciate the quick response here in avast forums! :) plus the learnings I get every time I surf through the topics.

Unless you've paid for a license, you only have a very limited trial.
Remove it through Programs and features.
Select Avast and choose Change.
Uncheck SecureLine. Allow the changes to happen and reboot your system.

@Eddy didn't really get the gremlin thing til now sorry  ;D

that's what I practically saw, the inactive one - though it was just for a brief moment.
haven't really clicked the "activate trial" I just didn't even bother with it anymore.  :) Thanks btw!

I don't see it btw in programs and features, only through the avast UI.

If you launch Programs and Features, Select Avast and select change, you should see it listed there like this:

If you don't intend to use it, uncheck it and select Change, wait for the process to
finish and reboot your system.
Once that's done you'll no longer see any part of it's icons and it will not be listed in the UI.
