Title: Avast shutting down Internet?
Post by: REDACTED on June 16, 2016, 11:13:20 PM
I recently switched to Avast from AVG, but I have been having one semi-major issue with it.  At random times, about once every day or two, Avast's protection will suddenly be disabled, and at the exact same time my internet will "shut down" and be inaccessible.  My internet doesn't go entirely down, as I seem to be able to still connect to certain online games/programs just fine, but trying to go to any website in my browser will result in a "Your internet is not connected" message.  This typically occurs when I am away from my computer and come back, but it has also happened once while I was actively doing things online and it suddenly cut out.

When this happens, I can go into Avast and re-enable protection, and it takes a minute or so to get going again.  Once it is back, my internet instantly returns also.

This is obviously very inconvenient.  What could be the causes of this?  I have scanned my entire computer with both Avast and Malwarebytes, and neither has found any malware or viruses.
