Title: One touch login not working
Post by: YLAP on June 22, 2016, 09:48:18 AM
Hello,

I have avast passwords license, one touch login enabled, but it is not working properly on HUAWEI P9 (EVA-19L). After I press notification about one touch login, nothing happens - app closes. Passwords are fingerprint protected. I am not sure what useful info I can provide.

Dear YLAP,

It seems that something wrong happens on your mobile side. Can you please try reactivate One Touch Login please ?

1) Unpair the One Touch login in your mobile device
- open Avast Passwords in your mobile device
- enter the password to get into the app
- tap the three-dots icon in the upper right corner
- select "Settings" in the menu
- in the menu tap on "One Touch Login pairing" - now you should see the same like on the screenshot "OTL - unpair"
- tap the "Unpair" button (marked on the screenshot)

2) On your Windows PC

- open the Avast
- click on the icon of sprocket in the upper right corner to enter settings
- on the left part of settings screen click on "Passwords"
- click on the "Pair new device" - see the attached screenshot "Avast Passwords - OTL - pair new device"
- a window will appear - click on "Start now" orange button
- click on "OK, I´m ready"
- a screen with QR code will appear - see attached screenshot "Avast Passwords - OTL - QR code"

3) On your mobile device

- open Avast Passwords in your mobile device
- enter the password to get into the app
- tap the three-dots icon in the upper right corner
- select "Settings" in the menu
- in the menu tap on "One Touch Login pairing"
- tap the "Pair" button - see attached screenshot "OTL- Pair"
- now aim the phone´s camer on the QR code (it is the strange "square" on your monitor)
- if everything was done right you will see on your mobile device the same screen like on the attached screenshot "OTL - Done"

Nope. Actually the only way one touch login not closes on phone is when Passwords app is unlocked on it. I get notification for OTL > I go to avast Password at first and unlocking it with my fingerprint > I quit the app (it has a time interval before it locks again) > I press the OTL notification > it works fine and unlocks my Passwords on PC.

If mobile app is locked - notification force closes without warning after I press it.

It's very very strange.

We have only HUAWEI P8lite phone - Android 6.0 (it's very similar to your phone). We retested it twice  on it and we can unlock desktop vault even if the app is lock. I thinking if maybe fingerprint can do some similar problems, but now I really guessing. We have no other similar reports for this issue so it is really strange.

Can you please try it, when fingerprint will be off ? It can help us for futher develop.

Thank you.

J.

Just tried it, actually it may be a bug with specific device. Maybe P8 is running older version of EMUI, I don't know. If the avast Passwords app is locked on phone, OTL notification force closes when pressed here. No difference if fingerprint protection is enabled on avast Passwords or not.
