Title: Annoying interferences and advertisement of Avast products on paid IS licenses
Post by: zukovski on July 14, 2016, 08:39:43 AM
As a paying licensee I agree to be offered an option to see other Avast products--WHEN  and IF-- I want to. However, is unacceptable to to be disturbed by urequested advertisements, sales offers pop-ups, and worst, that Avast IS sticks an unremovable icon in the user's task bar to pester him/her with a secure line offer.
Please stop interfering with paying subscriber's environment beyond the services Avast was requested and paid to perform.
Before you insert in your code marketind demands, please discuss the ethics of doing so.

You can disable the ads in the paid versions.
Avast GUI -> Settings -> Popups

Thanks for the quick response. Actually, right after posting I reviewed my settings and found out that I had the option of getting rid of unrequested pop-ups.
I think this option knocks-out the ethic's issue and I apologize for 50% of my criticism. Concerning the sticking of advertising icon in the task bar, whatever the user's option about pop-ups and product offers, the criticism stands: it's an intrusion, a bad idea.
