Post by: REDACTED on July 30, 2016, 03:54:30 PM
Hello.

I started to use Secureline VPN Windows yesterday but I have a problem. My ip adress changed but my DNS didn't change in connections. I checked it from whoer.net.

I use Windows 10 and Opera Browser.

Javascript Enabled.
Flash Player Enabled.
Java Disabled.
Activex Disabled.

Can u help me?

Best Regards.

I do not see any problem at all, only a lack of knowledge on how things are (supposed to be) working.
But that is something you can change.  ;)

Your IP address is not changing.
You still have the same IP as your ISP provides you.
Depending on the detection method and at what stage it is checked, sites/tools can detect the IP from the VPN server or your real IP.

There is no need to change the DNS server(s).
It has nothing to do with a VPN.

I attached 3 screenshot.

In first attachment, I connected with Secureline VPN Windows.
In second attachment, I connected with Zenmate VPN Windows.
In third attachment, I connected with Secureline VPN Android.

In all of them IP address hidden but in Avast's windows connection, seems my service provider's original DNS. It's a DNS Leak. It shouldn't be.

In Zenmate's connection, my DNS changed by Zenmate. This should be.

For complete security and privacy, all vpn companies use own DNS. Why does Avast use my internet service provider's DNS?

Beside if like you say, why does Avast change the DNS in android app in 3. screenshot?

THE ISSUE WAS SOLVED BY AVAST SUPPORT.
