Update 12.3.2279

Fixed:
- Win Vista, registration to Windows Security Centre

Hi all,

new RC version is live: 12.3.2278. There are no new features, only bug fixes.

Fixed:
+ Compatibility problems with BASH/Ubuntu subsystem (PICO processes) on Win10 Anniversary Update
+ FW incorrect displaying profile toaster
+ Avast is correctly recognized in WSC after upgrade to Windows Anniversary Update

Download links as usual or just update your current beta.

Previously introduced:
Passive mode:
- In this beta we would like to introduce new compatibility mode,  which should solve compatibility issues, when Avast is being installed on a pc, where other AV is installed (and registred to WSC), Most of the shields are turned off, Avast should be updatable.

Enjoy,
Avast team

Does it also fix the broken detection by Windoze Vista's Security Center?
Since upgrading to the latest official version 2276 Avast claims everything OK but Security center doesn't detect running AV software and claims anti-malware is reported by Avast as disabled.

Not yet, still working on that.

What is PICO?
Basically "Bash on Windows 10".

If this RC won't be promoted to the final, the Vista WSC will be fixed in the next build. (Already fixed in internal builds.)

This version is blocking my Windows Updates today.  Says they are too new to be trusted.

FYI, it's still not fixed in 2279 RTM.

We really need this to be in its own new topic in the Regular Release -
Avast Free/Pro/IS/Premier - section of the forums and not the beta sub-forum
