Title: Avast free edition is not working

Avast Free edition suddenly noticed it is not working, I tried to repair the installation but it is still not working.

Any suggestion how it can be resolved?

- Which version of Avast Free..?
- OS..? (32/64 Bit..? - which SP/Build..?)
- Other security related software installed..?
- Which AV(s) did you use before Avast..?

Avast version 12.3.2280
Win 7 64 bit
no other security software, have used Avast for a long time

1. Download Avast Free Antivirus: https://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_free_antivirus_setup_offline.exe
2. Follow instructions: https://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed Avast versions..!!)
3. Reinstall Avast with the downloaded installer from point 1.
4. Reboot.

Reinstalled it without uninstalling, reboot but its still not working.
Windows Defender is not working either, it used to work fine side by side with Avast and had no problem with any of them.
Ran some anti malware programs but didn't help either.

Just noticed it happened again, this time I presses the resolve button and it started working again.

Sometimes a second reboot is required.
