Title: Scan Logs (Avast Free) - Win10 Anniversary
Post by: Leaf Fan on September 20, 2016, 01:22:21 PM
I can't seem to find the scan logs. Can someone advise me of how to access them? Running Windows10-Anniversary. Avast Program is up to date.

Sorry but I already looked at that thread earlier before posting my question. The file paths do not appear as indicated. Using Win10. Note: I have hidden files and folders displayed.

The scan logs are actually in the Report sub-folder.

It is a shame we have this term scan logs and then avast place them in the report sub-folder.

Why Leaf Fan can't see them is the question.
@ Leaf Fan
The question being, have you enabled the generation of scan logs ?

AvastUI > Scan > Scan for viruses - select the scan > Scan Settings (at the bottom of the window) Report file. Ensure that the Generate report file is enabled, the * for the file name is the default and replicates the scan name for the report file name (image1).

Thanks for the help gents. My bad, I was actually looking in the wrong folder. I was searching through Program Files instead of Program Data.

Would be nice if logs could be accessed through the Avast UI.

Since that's not available through the UI, try this if you access logs often:

You're welcome.

Some of the log information is available from the UI, it is an extract of the log/report file. AvastUI > Scan > Scan for viruses - at the bottom of the window Scan history.  But it only relates to on-demand scans that you run, not the on access (resident) scanning.
