I was having a hard time due to this problem which reproduces on my system too:

Any other solution than removing Avast?

That's very strange... does stopping any Avast component (such as real-time shields) help?

Weirdly, only uninstall solves the issue.
Does Avast install some UI component to affect this system-wide?
It doesn't seem to be protection-itself related.

What OS/SP ?
What exact version of avast ?
What version of Adobe Illustrator ?

In my case, Windows 10 Pro 64bit version 14393.187/1607, Adobe Illustrator 2015.3.1 64bit (20.1.0), Avast Premier 12.3.2280 (build 12.3.3154.6).
All are the release versions, not beta, all genuine.

I have the same problem and my friend too.
I do not want to uninstall Avast but it seems that is the only solution
Any solutions???
