Title: error messages, " no protection for emails/NNTP"

I get the error messages, "Avast will not be able to protect incoming email", "Avast will not be able to protect outgoing email, "Avast will not be able to protect NTTP."
I have no idea why it is not "protecting". It is configured to scan all mail and NTTP in addition to inserting notes. It stopped doing this on February 1, 2006.

On my test emails (incoming,outgoing), there was not  a tag/note indicating the email was scanned. Also, there is no icon in tray when email is being sent/retreived.  This is using outlook express and Incredimail pop/smtp email.
