Title: Binary|callopenurl
Post by: PeterPan007 on February 09, 2006, 08:03:16 AM
when running a scan i get the virus found alert and have tried deleting, renaming and moving, as well as moving the offender to the chest. I was advised that most of these options were not available for this type of archive.

I deleted the windows installer file that seemed to be the carrier and ran the scan again.

The virus was found again and this is a "copy" of the log;

C:\WINDOWS\installer|5310aa3.msi\binarycallopenurl         infection Win32 Trojan-gen (other)

Error on move/rename - this operation not supported for this type oof archive.

HELP, how do I remove this?

Can you send us the MSI installer? It might be a false alarm...
If it's a real malware, it is not dangerous inside of the archive, you don't have to worry.

thanks for your reply, my antivirus sent it off as soon as it was found. The file itself was deleted with cyberscrub and is probably difficult to retrieve if at all.

Welcome to the forums, PeterPan007    :)

Just wondering ... what cyberscrub product did you use ... privacy suite, anti-virus, cybercide, etc?    ???
