Title: Locked out of my phone :(
Post by: REDACTED on November 04, 2016, 11:43:42 AM
Hi
I'm travelling abroad. Bought local SIM. When replaced SIM was asked for 4 digits Avast Anti theft password. I don't recall ever setting 4 digits password, and my password manager shows only 6 digits. So replaced to my old SIM - still getting the Anti theft screen.
So went to Internet cafe, logged into my Avast account - also here no 4 digits password. So deleted my phone from Avast, but I STILL get the anti theft screen. So basically I'm abroad and bricked my phone. Even when I return back home I can't see how I can get my phone back.
What can I do to cancel the anti theft, or get the correct 4 digits password?
Thanks a lot
Yuda

Thanks a lot guys  :)

However this didn't help me last week when this incident had happened. When I changed the SIM I was abroad, with no internet connection - so obviously my phone couldn't logon to Google to reset the PIN. I also couldn't logon to wifi network because the phone was locked by Avast...

Moreover - even when I connected to my Avast account in an internet cafe and reset the PIN this didn't help either - as Avast's servers could not connect to my phone...
So basically my phone was bricked throughout my time abroad. Luckily I had my tablet, and it was only for one week... And now I'm back home and all is well :)

Thanks again for support!

You're welcome.

As a suggestion, spend a little time reading the FAQ(s).
You might find some things that you will find useful to do/know.
If not right away, perhaps in the future.
