Post by: eira on December 08, 2003, 10:53:56 AM
When I'm using Avast(version4.1.304) my computer with Xp is stuttering when avast is checking my computer. So when the scanner is working I have to wait for typing or when I'm in a game the game also stutters. Can someone help me with this problem please.

Regards Eira. ???

Try a Background scanning. When it is running, right click the skin (main window) and choose the Background operation... Anyway, how much RAM do you have in your system? Games usually eat all of your available RAM and other programs could not run smoothly.
Take care. See you round.  ;)

It's probably the unpacking engine at work. Unpacking archives (zip, rar,...) takes a lot of system resources.

I also have resource problems when playing "Call of duty" and "Wolfenstein"
and running the resident shield in the same time.

It's because (my situation) these games have (consist) of many large archives.

My pc is a PIII 1ghz, XP, 384 mbram.

I simply shutdown (temporarily) the resident shield when playing these games.
