Title: Avast conflicting with Bitdefender Antivirus?
Post by: REDACTED on November 06, 2016, 06:28:35 PM
I like Avast and if I need to will uninstall Bitdefender. Here's what is going on. After a smart scan, I receive the following message. " Compatibility check found one or more additional antivirus programs on your PC. Multiple antivirus programs may cause an unstable computer or have a negative impact on overall computer performance. We strongly recommend to remove these programs" What follows is a prompt to remove Bitdefender Antivirus. Is this message something I can simply ignore? Thanks.

Why Using Multiple Antivirus Programs is a Bad Idea

if you want a additional scanner you can use Malwarebytes that is designed to run alongside your AV
Alternative use online scanners like TrendMicro housecall / F-Secure online scanner / ESET online scanner
