Title: Switching Avast online to new mobile
Post by: REDACTED on November 07, 2016, 07:18:55 PM
The mobile number (SIM) from my old mobile was switched into a new mobile-phone. But the online connection on the Avast account page seems to be still showing my old phone details.

I want to have the Avast account linked to the new mobile, but can't figure out how to achieve that change. I tried to make a new account but had difficulty as the e-mail etc. are all the same.

Also, I tried to reset the phone type shown on the account page to the new one which is LG, but the account is still showing the model number for the Samsung Galaxy mini. The IMEI/MEID is still the number of the old Samsung mobile too.

The vendor put a different type of newer SIM with the old phone number into the new mobile, that maybe why Avast online system is showing unknown Sim warning at the account page . The old phone was actually hard reset, so no data or programs exist on that device at present; also the wifi and data aren't functioning either, so I was curious why the data for the LG doesn't show on the account page.

Another factor adding to the confusion is I wanted to use my current mobile phone e-mail address on the new phone, as that e-mail was registered with Google, etc. As the old mobile had been factory reset I thought this wouldn't be an issue.

Any ideas how to get the account linked to the new mobile would be most welcome. Thank you.

Deleting AMS/AT from a mobile device does not remove the device from your account.
You need to do that manually.
