Title: Avast is trying to trick me
Post by: REDACTED on November 15, 2016, 06:56:27 AM
So I've been using avast for years and I even suggest to my costumers (I fix PC's) to get avast because it's IMO one of the best free Anti-virus programs out there. Well I disable it while I'm installing or uninstalling programs on my PC.

Well I've been getting these pop ups, that I really have no issue with, however lately I've been getting spammed by avast that I still have files left from a game that I've "uninstalled" left over and do I want to delete these files. First off I never uninstalled said game and second there's no way I'd do that because we all know..

well most of us should know that deleting files like that causes terrible issues...
deleting files that are "associated" with other programs will never end well.
My issue is with Avast trying to trick me into messing up my PC by straight up lying to me about programs that I never uninstalled.
So this is how avast works now? tricking us into destroying our registry?  Also wen I disable a program it should stay F-ing disabled until I freaken enable it! There should be NO pop ups.. no tricking me into messing up my PC.. Shame on you avast. No longer will I suggest to my costumers to download avast.

There is no need to do so.

A screenshot of the message can be helpful.
It can be temporary files or crap that came installed with the game.

avast does stay disabled for the time you have chosen or till the next reboot.

Disabling your protection while you install something new on your system is also a good way to get your computer compromised.
