Before I installed avast! I used the add-on for Microsoft Outlook 2003, called Video Mail.
Now, avast does not like me using it. Is there a setting I can set so that I can use this facility please? :-\
Thanks in anticipation

Can you expand on what avast doesn't like about it, errors, warnings, actions (or lack of), etc.
Hopefully this will help someone who uses Outlook (as I don't) to try and identify the problem.

Hi,
I have cut and pasted the following....
Suspicious extension(s) of attachment
* VideoEmail.mht
Content-Type doesn't correspond with attachment's extension
* VideoEmail.mht - text/html
I hope this gives you something to go on. It is a very useful addition to Outlook.

David

Yes, that gives something to go on.
It is the heuristics element of the email scanner flagging the attachment .mht as suspicious. The .mht file type is more often used for saving an html page as an archive (e.g. it includes the images, etc. in the file. It is also a proprietary format for use with IE.
So I guess it is not often used in email attachments, the key is suspicious, not infected. o if you are expecting this email with this type of attachment then you can chose no action and allow the email through.
You can also check and further customize the Heuristic Tab settings in the Outlook/Exchange plug-in.
