Title: RCP error
Post by: provoker on December 09, 2003, 05:50:26 PM
HI, Im running Home Edition of avast! Its excellent but there is one thing bugging me. After boot-up, avast! delays all other apps due to a ´RCP error´.

The avast!-icon has a white dot with a red line in it.
It can take up to two minutes before it disappears and everything turns normal. Why is this?

I didnt have this problem when I was using dial-up
but now when I got DSL it happens.

Please explain!

/Best regards

You probably have a XP system...
RPC error is compiled here: http://www.avast.com/forum/index.php?board=2;action=display;threadid=1864;start=msg12339#msg12339

(or http://www.avast.com/forum/index.php?board=2;action=display;threadid=1730;start=msg11102#msg11102 or http://www.avast.com/forum/index.php?board=2;action=display;threadid=1317;start=msg10900#msg10900).

Anyway, RPC (Remote Procedure Call) is a Windows Service and must be running because avast! depends on it.  ;)
