Title: Sounds not working
Post by: Jimmy9190 on January 01, 2017, 06:35:19 AM
Hello everyone,

I have just downloaded Avast Free and the sounds do not work, the ones you hear when the database updates or when a scan is completed. I ran the EICAR virus test and got a virus warning window but there was no "threat has been detected" audio.

I do have sounds and voiceovers turned on in Settings. Other audio such as MP3 songs and embedded video work fine so I know my laptop and speakers are OK. I am only running the File Shield, Mail Shield and Web Shields, also enabled the Avast Online Security plugin for my Firefox browser. All other components are turned off. I am using Windows 10.

Thanks for any help on this.

Sounds have been removed several years ago.

Sounds have been removed several years ago.

Then someone needs to tell avast as all of the options are there as are the sound .wav files.

Not to mention, a test in the eicar.com file give an alert and an audible alert.

I removed and reinstalled Avast, the sounds and their respective warning popups are working fine now.
