Title: win 32 vibpack (wrm)
Post by: mover on February 23, 2006, 07:53:22 PM
I have just run this weeks scan and I am getting lots of warnings for the same infection win32.vibpack, what is this ? I have set my scan to high this week and  the infection has grown, again what is it?, am I alone? I posted this same question before. Are they false positives (whatever that is). Could the scan set to " high"  be picking out all the embeded  ads within downloaded software.
regards
brian

The virus name isn't particularly helpful, but a google search returns many hits, a lot of them on the avast forums (http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=19460.0), have you tried a google search ?

- What was the filename, where was it found
  example (C:\windows\system32\infected-filename.xxx)?
The file name is also worth doing a googe search on as this often brings more information, rather than the virus name.
