Title: Cancel subscription
Post by: REDACTED on January 18, 2017, 08:14:02 PM
I've been talking to avast on Facebook but didn't really get anywhere.

A payment of £39.99 came out of my PayPal for avast but for a computer I dumped five months ago also I don't have my old email anymore thanks to virgin.net being sold to talk talk and they deleted all virgin.net accounts so cannot log into my old avast account.

Anyone know how I can get a refund and stop the subscription? I had to create another account to come on here.

Please (re)search before posting.
The answer has been given a huge amount of times already.

Contact avast anyway.
It would surprise me if they can't find the details.

As I say I was talking to them on Facebook all day and got nowhere they told me to come here.

Isn't there a phone number I can talk to a human?

No, for things like this you need to create a ticket.

Submit the ticket and if you haven't heard back from avast in 5 business days, mention the ticket ID here.

t seems I paid twice for AVAST Secure line and have been unable to download either onto my computer. Because I didn't receive a notice to renew I paid for another subscription. I  paid $7.99 + tax for one month on January 24, 2017, Order #10567432606.

Order #3712974150 was then renewed on January 28, 2017 at $9.99 + tax.

I don't have any version of AVAST Secure Line because it will not download. Yes, I have checked the FAQ's, support, etc.  I sent two emails and submitted two tickets, the most recent one was today. I want to cancel BOTH orders immediately and get a full refund. I've never had any problems until the past few days with Avast and now I'm soured on the whole experience.

After submitting a ticket you need to have some patience.
Submitting multiple tickets (as has been explained a lot of times), will put you back to the bottom of the stack (FiFo).

avast is handling tickets within 1-5 business days.
As today is Sunday, you need to start counting tomorrow.

Where can I email someone. I think have gone through the steps to cancel my auto subscription, doe's this mean I will get a refund? The link on post about no longer works. I want my money back, then I eviscerating all trace of Avast off my computer.

Used avast for years, seriously disappointed with this stunt tho. End of a friendship.

I found that this Avast company went on there own this year and put $74.80 on my credit card without asking me, or getting my permition first.
I called my credit card company and I am going to dispute it. I called a bunch of different numbers as well as to start a ticket on their sight. A person that sounds like he is calling back from India identified himself as a customer service rep wants me to give him access to my computer.  I have a old account number and a password that they used last year to create a account and that's not good enough for him to look into the situation. I was told that If I did not give this person access to remotely go onto my computer that I was wasting his time. " Imagine that", I am supposed to let someone on my computer with no proof if they are even with this  company, who on their own appear to  be acting very sleazy to begin with.  You should always be able to talk to a live person. They have a bunch of numbers posted that dont lead anywhere at all. There are computer accounts looked into everyday without letting other people take control of your computer, especially people that can later be denied by the company that they sent them.

Very likely you have auto-renewal enabled.
If so, it means you sure did gave avast permission for it.

Depending on the country you live, there is only one number and it is for technical support, not for billing issues.

No, it depends on how a company prefers/wants to handle things.

as well as to start a ticket on their sight.
Where/how did you created the ticket ?
If was through the avast website, please mention the ticket ID and the date you have created it.

On a note:
avast sends you several emails before the auto-renewal takes place and giving you enough time to disable it if you don't want it.

On January 8th I received the following email:

Hello,

This is just a friendly confirmation that we have received your support request and one of our dedicated team members will get back to you as soon as possible.

We are currently experiencing an unusually high volume of incoming messages, while we strive to resolve your issue as quickly as possible, unfortunately this may take a little longer than usual.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and we politely ask for your patience while we try to resolve the current situation we are facing, your email is extremely important to us and we will have a dedicated specialist respond to you as soon as possible.

On February 13th I received this email from Avast:

Hello,

Do you still need help from our Support team?

One of our outstanding Support team humans emailed you a little while ago, regarding the ticket 690830 subject I have TWO orders, neither downloads. I want a complete refund of BOTH orders. 10567432606 & 3712974150. Please refund immediately. I am very unhappy with the lack of support & response despite 2 emails & a ticket submission, but you never replied. If you still need our help, please get in touch — otherwise, they’ll close your ticket.

If we’ve already solved your request (thus fulfilling our purpose), then feel free to disregard this message.

Thank you for your patience,
The Avast Reply-Bot

"A little while ago" was the FIRST email from January 8th. I then replied that YES, I STILL need help.

Today, February 17th, I get THIS email:

Hello,

Since we haven’t heard from you in several days, we’re going to close your ticket 690830, subject: I have TWO orders, neither downloads. I want a complete refund of BOTH orders. 10567432606 & 3712974150. Please refund immediately. I am very unhappy with the lack of support & response despite 2 emails & a ticket submission

If your problem hasn’t been fixed, and you’re on holiday or otherwise unable to get back to us, don’t worry. All you need to do is reply to this email and your ticket will be re-opened automatically.

Otherwise, we hope you have a great day!

Thank you for your contacting us,
The Avast Support Team

And THIS is supposedly an automated reply. I have STILL not had this issue resolved and I am beyond livid. NO response either on the Facebook page. What in the heck is going on here? I am going straight to the BBB if this is not resolved ASAP.

Hi,
I'm not sure if this post is old or not. But I really need advice or a solution to this. Out of impulse I purchased a year subscription for performance issues on my windows laptop. I regret it so much because I don't even need it and acted stupidly. I tried going into the subscriptions with my ID and password to resolve the issues or to even refund. But none of that works. I typed it all from the order confirmation but apparently it's all 'invalid information'. I don't know what to do. Can someone please help me sort this out?
Much appreciated
