Notification "bell" for me remains active even I have read and cleared all my notifications in the avast notifications center. Still showing I have an active notification for empty panel.

No need to be sorry. I agree it's hard to monitor since not every issue has a thread but now it does.

RejZoR also posted a topic on this and also did a comprehensive video on youtube about it. If you can find that topic, the video was very good.
