Something that I thought would have been higher up the list for fixes.

There is still no Pause button in any of the Scans.

Yet another issue, despite this being on the fix list.

The Security Browser Extension, isn't installing on Firefox 51.0.1 and this is only the 32bit version of firefox, running on XP Pro SP3.

EDIT: Restarted avast and firefox, still no AOS - restarted the OS and still no AOS.

Still don't see a fix to be able to connect to the my.avast.com 'account' from the avastUI (not talking about a workaround here) or a means to link your installation to your my.avast.com account ?

Why? Why not immediate? If I turn it on and not get it, i'll think it's broken. And when it popus up 12 hours later, do you think casual people know it's that same thing? Or they'll think OH MUH GOD; ADWARE!!!!

Hi Dave, there's a delay of 12 hours before AOS is offered.

I honestly can't see the point of this, other than to frustrate users. Especially those beta testers using the beta version and testing the supposed fixes.

I wasn't offered it because I had bloody removed it because it previously didn't work, no matter what I tried. Now that the new beta was released I did a manual program update. It wasn't so much being offered, but being demanded.

It is hard to see why anyone would bother to run the beta versions if there are going to be unknown/unpublished hoops to jump through. It is just a giant waste of time, I really will have to consider if it is worth bothering beta testing if avast are going to introduce these frustrations. Thankfully I haven't got it on this win10 system.

For me on this win10 with 2280, the UI loads very fast (higher spec) than my XP when it had 2280 the UI opened quickly (under 3 sec), but took several more seconds before you could click anything. However, on my XP system the 2286 & 2287 UI loaded much quicker than 2280 and is ready for use.

A big dislike again (updating from 2286 - 2287 via built-in updater)

I believe it's because it was previous beta? I hope this does not happen with stable release... or only this once (not next month).

My Program Settings are set to Ask/Notify of updates, but I didn't wait and did a manual program update. I didn't get the screen that you attached, but I did get one with a big fat Activate button.

Anyone not paying attention would find that they had just clicked to have a 60 trial of Premier (or AIS) and the very small text (not even a button) along the lines of Not this time or no thanks.

system is dreadfully slow after this update. can barely browse the net going to reinstall and see if that helps.

edit: all seems fine after a clean install. something during the update must have caused an issue.

I'm with the others. The GUI opens painfully slow. First I get an "over-sized" white box, then after a few seconds the GUI finally opens up.

It fixed itself somehow only on one of my PC's. On two of them it's still broken. I don't get it. And majority of people also can't import it because the dialog is just empty. Why isn't this getting fixed properly so people can finally import my config file?

No, Behavior Shield should always have exclusions separate.

disable all shield , behavior shield truely disable , that means behavior protection is a part of shield. i dont understand why need exclude scanning separate .
Title: Re: Avast Beta 17.2.2287
Post by: RejZoR on February 19, 2017, 04:23:20 PM
Because behavior and file scanning are VERY different methods of protection. Just because you want to exclude something from signatures, you don't necessarily want to exclude it from behavior protection as well. Signatures are far more prone to false positives than behavior analysis...

Maybe include an option on the global exclusions page to apply exclusions to Behavior Shield.

Not seeing any change here still shown as aswidsagent.exe in XP task manager 17.2.2287 (build 17.2.3409.0) a manual program check indicates I'm up to date.check.

Don't know if this might be an XP thing, but avast indicates the behaviour shield is running.

Maybe it is XP related but they should be able to rename aswidsagent.exe in my opinion.

I've attached a screenshot of how it looks on Windows 10.

I find that the full scan has unfortunately too little details (what grade scan avast or if he finds anything that you don't look which file is made and always have to wait until the full scan to the end is.) And it takes forever just to the scan starts I hope that will change.
Yesterday it took 40 minutes to avast did the scan at 1%.
In the scan history is unfortunately also not what were scanned is.

Sorry if my English is not the best.

Yes, sure. But I've been reporting this "irritation" for quite some time. They told it's not gonna happen with each update. So far - it has been (between betas).
It's just that BETA users should be free of such things. I specifically used "if possible" because most likely these things are hard-programmed and can not be removed for BETA only (or not that easily).

We have been shouting about this (pre-checked option) for some considerable time, as they say there are none so deaf as those that won't listen.

It is still there and I can't see that changing any-time soon, it still attracts derision from those who don't see it (or don't take time to read before clicking) and end up with chrome.
