Although Hitman Pro might not be a full blown av as avast is, conflicts can be expected.

As for the detection,
what exact version of avast ?
what vps version ?

Here is why I said it.

It would be a real bad thing if a nowadays security only would detect viruses.
That is like trying to name all the letters in the alphabet while you only know the A ;)

As of 19 March - this IDP.Alexa.51 has appeared on my computer as well.
This time it's pointing a finger at a program, that has been on my PC for a year.
'TinySpell' was downloaded from a very good website and used without Avast saying anything.
But since the last definitions update, it says I have this malware and puts it into the 'Virus Chest'.
Have uninstalled the program and have replaced it with an older zipped version - and avast has not screamed once (even scanned it).
Now I've got a file in virus chest, which I cannot delete - any help, please.

There is no rush to delete anything in the chest, a protected area, more so if this a file that has been on your system for a long time.

If you consider the detection to be a false positive:
1. open the virus chest and submit it to the virus labs.
2. if you accept the risk, you can Restore and add it to exclusions (in one action).

There will still be a copy in the chest, just leave it there for a while it won't hurt. By the time this delete from the virus chest is resolved scan it within the chest and if it is no longer detected, then delete it.

Yes - I wish to delete this file, but it will not delete.
And no the message I get is the 'Are you sure you wish to delete selected file(s) - Yes or No' - which seems to not work.
Have already deleted the program and its folder, so it cannot be restored.
The older version (contained within a zipped file), was put into a different place (scanned file and nothing was found).
So short of waiting for another update, to correct this error - is there anything else I can do..?

Don't know if a clean install also deletes the virus chest as part of it's removal?
It might be worth a try:

Clean Install of Avast:
