Title: License.dat file
Post by: gibjon on March 13, 2006, 02:43:19 AM
Hi,

Has anyone received a corrupted email from AVAST when they were trying to send you the license.dat file?

I believe its a problem with UUencoding as the .dat file appears to be embedded in the text body (the file starts with "begin 666"). I've sent an email to support@avast.com 2 days ago and have had no response!

I was hoping that someone could suggest a software tool for fishing out the file....

I live in hope!

Jon.

Are you using a webmail client to get the attachment? Or which email program are you using?

Most email programs have no problem with UUENCODE (which is the way the attachment is encoded). But I have heard that e.g. GMail has some problems with it...

Thanks
