The changelog isn't very detailed to say the least. There have been many fixes which haven't been mentioned here that I can see:

The UI should auto fit the screen resolution if the UI was too big.
The Avast account is back in GUI,
Many UI issues have been fixed,
Virus chest dialog are fixed.
When running a scan and the toaster was opened, when scan completed, the toaster would show scan cancelled. That has been fixed.

why not free firewall in free version and why only in paid versions
If you want a free firewall use Windows 7 and up. :)

Considering the length of time since the last update, I had certainly expected more fixes.
There were a lot of complaints about many problems, very few of those seem to be fixed in this release.

I think it's more the case that the Changelog doesn't have all the mentioned fixes.

If there was little or no difference between the free and paid versions, who is going to buy the paid versions.

You are right. Many of the UI bugs are now being fixed in the separate UI update channel. These bugs may not be tied to a specific build version and will be at some point fixed in beta and or release channel. However, I definitely forgot to mention important changes like the Avast Account.

And the problems of full scanning are solved or not in the new beta ?.

There were lots of scan issues reported previously, No Pause button, Scan progress appears to stop, Scheduled Scan not working. But nothing in the Fixes and the Known Issues still reports 'Scans do not start on scheduled time.'

The full scan works as it always has.

If you mean the progress indicator has been fixed and not stuck on 0% for a while, it hasn't.

The pause button for the scans is most likely not returning from what I have heard.

Sounding like with every new build, we keep loosing more control and features.  :(

It really amazes me the number of times basic things have been removed that are considered by many users as essential, followed by extreme reluctance to restore it. This really is depressing.

If they are going to remove things (such as they did with the remote assistance, screen saver scan) I wish they would come clean and tell people in the forums rather than simply ignore them. Its not as if there is a shortage of screen space as the UI is bloody massive and with even more acres of empty space.

In all honesty I couldn't care less about Scheduled Scans as I don't run them outside of beta testing and the forums.

I understand and have no issues with that.

My point is people look at Changelogs and look for changes since the last version . Those fixes are in this BETA no matter which build they come from.

Without posting them, no one would know those changes happened unless they actually ran the BETA.

You can see from members here that they thought this BETA never incorporated many fixes.

I wonder if they'll ever even fix it... I want to use the animation but I can't since day one because of the annoying distracting jumping animation. If it works as it should, it's beautiful smooth transition. But that twitching makes it annoying as hell and I can't stand it in such state.

Does anyone have any slow internet? After installing version 2289, the browser speed was slowed down on Chrome or Firefox and so on.
The computer settings are the same as before. Only the version of Avast is changed.
The 2289 version of WebShield is shut, so the original speed comes out. In the 2288 version, I did not feel that the internet was slowing down even when I turned on WebShield.
So I reinstalled the 2288 version and the internet is much faster than the 2289. Is there anyone like me? Is it just a matter of my PC?

I have the same issue.  Version 2289 with Web Shield enabled introduces a several second delay before beginning to load all websites (in both Edge and Firefox).  Once it starts loading, the speed is a bit slower than with 2288.  All settings in 64-bit Windows 10 Home and avast! were the same in both cases.

I'm back on 2288, and all is well again.

I too experience some odd lag spikes. I was wondering if it was Avast... Seems like that. But it's weird lag and it does not seem to be always there...

Same here. I first thought it might have been the wifi at this hotel but, hat's not the case.
Reported to Avast.

I can confirm the issue. Even on my rather fast connection (250 MBit) I get some lags now and then.

I noticed there is a new option in "Troubleshooting" section saying "Use nested virtualization where available".
However its description does not say which option will do the effects described on it... needed "When this option enabled or not" / "If you want to allow...".

I'm not running this beta, but I wonder if you just open the AvastUI > Settings > Troubleshooting and just use the ? (help) icon top right of the window, does that offer any more information ?
