Avast better than Kaspersky, Symantec, Avira and ESET for the first time (as far as I know).

These are good news!

Even more interesting if you look at F-Secure, they got 100% to only issue they also got 37 False positives. Looks like they strive to block almost everything resulting in major FPs.

It looked like McAfee tried the same method also with 37 FPs, but they didn't get 100% only 96.9%.

Wow, I missed the 0.3% user dependent initially and thought it was 0.3% missed. Considering that's Behavior Shield and it defaults to "Fix automatically", that means avast! nailed 100% of samples. There were probably more by Behavior Shield, but the ones it can identify with higher accuracy are quarantined without user intervention.

Bottom line, AVG acquisition really paid off! Now keep up this level!

I'm really impressed.  8)

In all honesty when you consider avast had been getting 99.x % in the past with

That's the problem when you are already in the 99% area it is pretty hard to close out that last .x%.
In Apr 2016 it was 99.5%
In Jul  2016 it was 99.7%
In Sep 2016 it was 99.7%
In Nov 2016 it was 99.7%
But that .x% were classed as compromised not user dependant.

There were months in between where there were dips in detections. Now we want to see consistency and improvements but 100% is a hard target without increase in FPs.

It did detect 100% in this test. The 0.3% that are "user dependent" are Behavior Shield popups. While they offer "ignore" option, they default to "Fix automatically". Meaning it'ssuper highly likely users will just click OK and it'll be blocked. I'm advanced user and I always do that...

Well lot of IDP detections are automatically fixed but there are indeed some user dependent detections.

Still pretty good for avast.First time we passed kaspersky.  :)
