Title: New install on a Surface 4 running Windows 10 64-bit, now blue screen.
Post by: REDACTED on April 06, 2017, 05:19:35 PM
Does anyone have any ideas why I would get the blue screen on a new installation of Avast for Business on my Surface 4?  Doing a trial, it worked in a VM fine, Win 7-64 bit.  If it doesn't work on the Surface, that is a bad sign.

No idea, but are you running Windows 10 64-bit on Surface? Are you completely up-to-date via Windows Update?

What exact version of avast ?
What OS/SP ?
Is (or was there) any other security software installed ?
What is the exact message on the BSOD ?

A VM is just simulating hardware, it does not use the drivers that a actual system does (amongst many other differences).
