I searched for 45 minutes for the answer to this; my regrets if it missed it.
Avast Mac Security 2016, v. 12.5
2012 MacBook Pro
OS 10.12.3
Latest Chrome Browser, running AdBlock, Privacy Badger, and Flash Control extensions
Once every few days, Avast will pop-up with a warning
"Infection blocked! Avast Web shield has blocked a threat.
Infection: URL:Mal
URL: https://www.jhmzxu.com/.well-known/dnt-policy.txt
The process is Google Chrome
I've never visited this site. How, precisely, can I track down what is causing this? Is a safe site trying to load an ad from a bad site or something like that?

When using Safari, this fixes that.
Safari Preferences--> Search ---> disable "enable quick web search" AND "Preload top hit in the background"
You need to STOP all "pre-fetching" that is being done on Google Chrome just like above....pre-fetching issue of an infected page.
