Title: Change Server IP address
Post by: REDACTED on April 18, 2017, 08:21:09 PM
I need to change the IP address of the server that hosts our Avast Enterprise Administration Console.
We currently build a Deployment Package and use GPOs to run a .bat file to install to clients at start up.
Once installed, the setup.ini file on the clients has the existing IP address of the server hard-coded it as the FailSafeServer and FirstMirrorUrl

Once I change the IP address of the server, how do I get the clients to be aware of the new IP address?
Is there a way to set the FailSafeServer and FirstMirrorUrl attributes to the FQDN rather than an IP address?

Thank you

When Moving to another Server, or when changing the server IP address the best approach is to first change the AEA Configuration with the new IP/FQDN and let the clients check in and update. Also do not forget to rebuild your deployment package that you use for the .bat install.

To change the address, go to the group in EAC that you want to change and right click and choose properties (Or do this for the Computer Catalog if you do not have groups)

Then go to Communication and here enter the address of the server. Also be sure to check the option to try to find a fail-over server if it can not contact the EAS
