I got it through windows update on the release date of it.

Apparently checking Windows update for new updates is currently installing
• Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1703 for x64-based Systems (KB4016240 (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4016240/windows-10-update-kb4016240))

4 systems updated without issues.
One system, Dell Vostro 1700 32 bit has no internet access after the update.
I've tried several times and always had to roll it back. Still waiting for MS to fix the problem.

12 systems so far (3 to go ::)) and not one problem on any of them, all Asus and Acer, none are older than 6 years.

Well, the system I have is 9 (nine) years old and no issues.  But then, it is not a consumer machine.

[EDIT:]  A little off topic but posted for compatibility reasons:  It runs Intel Pentium D 2.8 Presler.

Mine is also an older laptop and apparently MS doesn't like the
Dell Wireless 1390 WLAN Mini-Card nor the Broadcom 440 X 10/100 Integrated Controller.

Don't worry, when Microsoft thinks your machine is ready they will give you a copy.

A new warning from Microsoft:
It’s important to note that when customers use the Software Download Site (https://aka.ms/eojpj8) to manually install the Creators Update they bypass many of these blocks.
Therefore, we continue to recommend (unless you’re an advanced user who is prepared to work through some issues) that you wait until the Windows 10 Creators Update is automatically offered (https://blogs.windows.com/windowsexperience/2017/04/11/how-to-get-the-windows-10-creators-update/#BxZQWEzPk2oypjtj.97) to you. When your device becomes eligible for the Creators Update rollout, you’ll be prompted to make some important choices on your privacy settings before the Creators Update can install.

hey people,
please note that those running amd a10-8700p processor, it is currently not, repeat, not compatible with win 10 creators update.
at the moment microsoft, amd, and hp all pointing fingers at each other with no solution in sight. hopefully one of the 3 or any other manufacturer using this processor will step up with solution soon.
