I downloaded a game from Steam the other day and decided to scan my Steam folder just in case, I ran scan folders and checked only the game folders and to my surprise the results included several errors, Error 3 to be exact, each time I scan the folders I kept getting the same error 3 but with different locations and files. I rebooted my PC but still the same...
I know someone else might have already posted about this error here but I don't understand how I get different results each time I scan the same folders...
Should I be worried?
P.S. I also forgot to mention I reinstalled Avast completely and still get these errors...

Any other security software you have now or ever had?
If uninstalled how was it removed?
Did you use the avast online or offline installer?

I downloaded the file from the official site and installed it, don't know which installer that means.
Just ran another scan on the entire Steam folder and got only 1 error about a decompressed file. When I scan folders inside the main one I always get the error 3 thing, it shows file paths that don't make any sense...

On-line installer is about 6MB and you need to be on-line for the stub installer to download the avast components.
The off-line installer is in the region of 276MB (depending on your version of avast) and it can install everything without having to be on-line.

See how the path is messed up? The game folder is in D:\SteamLibraryD\steamapps\common but I get all these crazy results.
This is not about how Avast can't scan the file it's about why the paths are so messed up...

Yes! I scan them several times and each time I get different paths like these that make no sense.

They are in the path I installed them (D:\SteamLibraryD\steamapps\common) while the paths I get from report file don't exist at all.

That is why avast gives that message.
The files are simply not there when avast tries to scan them.

Why do I get these messed up paths then? Doesn't avast scan the folder I choose, according to these results it scans paths that don't exist... Also why do I get different ones each time I scan the same folder and why only on some games?

All Steam games can only be opened after you go online, so yes. But I don't get this error on all the Steam games just some.

Anyway it is only a scan error message not a detection
You may run CCleaner and clear some crap, maybe the result change

I tried scanning them when online but I get the same messed up results.
I'm not worried about the error but rather why I get such weird paths, I mean one of them mixed the path of my pictures folder with the Steam one...

Just the default ones, haven't changed anything.
Right now I scanned this folder: "D:\SteamLibraryD\steamapps\common\Left 4 Dead 2" and got this result: D:\My Pictures\My Pics\me\DSC00028.JPG\㔍봕ǒ됈㔍봕ǒ됈㔍봕ǒ\steamapps\common\Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2\resource\overviews\l4d_farm05_cornfield.bmp [E] Системата не може да намери указания път (3)

Excuse me for posting in this thread again but I'm still worried about my computer. I deleted the photo that was part of the messed up path and I deleted and reinstalled the game into a different path only to get these results in the report file:

Do you see how the path shows a folder in some foreign language which I thought was japanese but I'm not sure... I do not have anything with such a name in my computer. I'm worried since my Avast might be corrupted if it shows such results!
Why does it show that image in the report results when I only chose the Steam folders to be scanned?

About the strange symbols...
Amongst other things, it can be a dying hardware or a damaged OS.
A start would be running hardware diagnostics and checking all system temperatures.
Manufacturers drive diagnostic tool, memtest and such.

Does that explain why the report file has my pictures folder even if I only selected the game folder which is in a diffrent location? Why does it always show the same picture in the report despite which game folder I scan?

I'm sorry to bring this thread back but I deleted all files that were not part of the designated path for scan and now I got this:

This is the path I chose to be scanned: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Unturned"
That error makes no sense... Can it be a virus?

Usually mean there are registry entries to deleted or moved files and scan engine dont find them
This scan error is usually gone if you reboot and scan again
You may also run CCleaner registry clean

What about the weird paths? Now it shows the error in my Avast folder... Can the virus take control of Avast? I reinstalled Avast several times and each time I get a different location within Avast's folders.
