Title: Avs Updating
Post by: Strnj1 on April 01, 2006, 06:25:04 PM
I recently switched from dial-up to a wireless ISP and can't seem to get my AVS to update anymore, I have already allowed AVS access through my firewall. Then I uninstalled it and then reinstalled the program and still have the same problem. The message I receive is "Cannot connect to download3.avast.com (67.15.62.22:80). Just wondering if anyone has any possible steps that I may take to fix this problem. I download the free home edition last night and registered after I reinstalled but still have the same problem.

What is your firewall ?
What wireless ISP ?
How is the connection made to that ISP (modem, router, etc.), excuse my ignorance, I haven't use one ?

Have you checked your avast Program Settings, Update (Connections), ensure it is set correctly ?
Also check the Proxy, button and ensure that these settings reflect your circumstances, Direct connection (no proxy) seems to suit most people, unless their ISP uses a proxy).
