Title: support
Post by: bryanh1231 on June 03, 2017, 06:02:37 AM
What is the point of reporting an issue with free Avast only to have the topic deleted?  >:(

I don't see any recent posts by you that have been deleted :-\

This is somewhat strange, though you have 4 posts recorded, but I can only see this post for this profile ID.

Could be the webboard glitch again.

or someone does not like the topic!
Never known topics to vanish, well, not a few anyway, though I have known them to vanish into the hole in the Internet just when posting!
But not after seeing them posted by a user.
I am an admin on a few boards (fewer now since that scurge Facebook came about) and once on the board the only way they can vanish is if someone deletes them.   ::)

Confirmed, really strange. :-\ I'd suggest to repost your issue.

I've had a few of them lately but didn't or don't know that they increased the post count ???
Glitches are just like itches if you scratch one, another is sure to appear.

The only possibility that I can think of is a duplicate post/topic being deleted, but that should also be recorded n the logs.

Do you really think that we would mention the fact that there is an anomaly in the post count in the users profile against actual posts, if they were deleted, then there would be an entry in the log/s.

If a post is deleted that action should also reduce the post count of the user and that hasn't happened either.

I don't know how you recovered the URL (but it is still Absent without leave), your post count indicates 6 but only 3 shown in your post history.

Aha, the BCU section has been removed from the forum. That explains it.

I can't even recall seeing a sub-forum for the Browser Clean Up (if that is what your abbreviation means), given that this is an integral component of the main avast program. And a component I have never felt the need to install.

It is more likely that it has been moved to an area of the forums that we can't access any more, rather than actually 'removed.'

I remember the forum.
The leader of the BCU team had ask me to keep an eye on it and report it if there where multiple people having the same problem/(possible or obvious)bug.

Was a real tough time for me as there where no bugs ;D

Hi Dave, it was a sub-forum of "Avast Additional products" and has been removed a short while ago.

Thanks, just seemed strange that it would be considered an additional product when it is included in all versions.

There used to be a stand alone version.

You're welcome. And (as Eddy mentioned), there's also a standalone version of BCU.

Yes, it is a bit strange   :-\
