Title: Adding Avast Passwords to Chrome Canary
Post by: Michael1176 on June 03, 2017, 08:24:36 PM
I was forced to switch to the Google Chrome "Canary" browser a few days ago. Is there a way to add Avast Passwords to this new version of the Chrome browser? Or just not available yet?

Please advise :)

Chrome has 4 releases - a regular release, a beta release, a dev release and canary. Canary is simply a much newer release thats not as well tested, but has the latest shiny stuff.

Stick to the regular/stable release.

The regular release isn't working on my machine. That's why I noted in my last post that I was forced to install Canary. Chrome keeps closing on its own.

No you where not forced to install Canary.
That was your own choice.

If the regular Chrome isn't working, find out why not and solve the problem or use another browser.

I have been trying to figure it out. I am trying to answers to solve those problems. In the meantime, until I can get the answers I need, I'd like to add my Avast Passwords to what I am using at the moment.

Regular Chrome isn't working and until I fix it, I have to use Canary. I don't want to use Firefox because it is slow on my machine.

There is no guarantee that anything from avast (or other vendors) will work on a Beta version (or version that isn't even in a beta stage).

It would be a waste of time and money if avast test things on such version(s) as the developer can change (a lot of) things in the final version.

Either it works or not.
If it is working you are lucky, if not though luck.

You may use similar steps as mentioned here https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=204983.msg1406268#msg1406268 (https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=204983.msg1406268#msg1406268)
to make passwords working in Canary build
just don't change parameter specifying browser type.
