Title: Avast extention for Mac incompatible with Firefox multi-process
Post by: stevegoldfield on June 23, 2017, 05:21:13 PM
Firefox has a multi-process functionality (Electrolysis) which reduces CPU use and prevents a wedged tab from stopping everything else. However, this functionality does not run when an extension is incompatible with multi-process. I installed a Mozilla extension which reports on add-ons. It reports that three of my extensions are incompatible with multi-process. One of them is Avast Online Security. I prefer not to disable Avast in order to get this functionality. Can Avast Mac Security be updated to be compatible?

I checked my version, which is 10.3.3.48 from July 22, 2016. That sounds old so I checked for updates but found none.
