Hi,
after today`s engine (application) update my Avast (all componenets, not only Free Ativirus) doesn`t work.
I get following messages:
"UI failed to load. This is really embarrasing. AV Service is not responding."
and when I try to update program, I get message "RPC server not available".
Can comebody advise & help ?

I had the same message today after an avast update. I'm using premier on a pc with windows 10.
The best advice from other forum posts seemed to be uninstall and then install avast. When I started the uninstall Avast itself gave me an option to 'repair' which simply seemed to run all the bits and pieces of the update again. And on restarting the pc all is now well again with avast.
All in all a bit worrying when your av won't start and there's nothing from Avast themselves to offer any guidance.

If you are using XP, make sure the terminal and RPC services are running.
