I've always been happy with Avast/Mac/Sierra. I am not sure when my last Avast updates were done, but all is up to date. I had to turn the mail and web shields off--at least when using Ancestry.com--using both Chrome and Safari. It appears they are keeping me from seeing any media on Ancestry (e.g, photos, censuses, etc.). I never had the problem until Tuesday, 7/11/17. Any thoughts anyone.

Hi: Are you still thinking about my problem.
Probably not today, it's weekend... ;)

@donv1 - I can access the ancestry without any issues. It shows even some images however as I have only trial account it's hard to test it. Would you mind to share some screenshots?

I have screen shots for you. Unfortunately, I don't remember how to upload from them my computer given what's above. Basically, they show broken image icons. Can you refresh me on how to post the shots here? Incidentally, Ancestry was working properly. Immediately after turning the two shields I mentioned earlier on the problem reappeared.

Bye. No more Avast for me. Poor support from the company (as I have read here), and poor support from the community. I'll never buy any Avast product. Thank you Aysn though!

This is clearly an issue between Ancestry and Avast. I'm unable to view media. I contacted Ancestry with my problem. They immediately asked if I was using a Mac. Yes. Then asked if I had Avast installed. Yes. They said that's the issue and that I should reinstall he security certificates in Avast for Ancestry. ???? I went into the Shield and added the Ancestry domains to the excluded list. Nothing changed. What's the solution??
