Hi Pondus,

Part of an ongoing anti-Russian sentiment in the USA and NATO (main media driven).
Are we slowly returning to the days of the cold war also for AV?

By the way it is not only USA, Mainland China also banned Kaspersky's.
Allowed are Qihoo 360, Venustech, CAJinchen, Beijing Jiangmin and Rising.

Hi Pondus,

Lots of things apparently, that we do not understand fully here.

Nothing on DrWeb's from St.Petersburg, an AV with Mr. V.V. Putin as honorable president,
a very respectable service that finds up plenty of  issues where other av fails,
good for getting at a well-needed counterbalance to make the old globe go round again.  ;)

@ polonus
Reference your attached image message - of course you would want to silence fake news - but the problem is often how do you prove a negative.

And what is new here ?
Kaspersky (as well as many other security companies) are working together with a lot of governments and international organizations.
Amongst them are Europol and Interpol.

Trump it is just a speaking carrot who hasn't got a clue at all what he is talking about.

I'm still waiting for him to discover the highly advanced alien micro technology spying equipment in those old Trabants ;D

For us it is only important that our AV solution of choice catches all the bad and the ugly,
and will whitelist the good.

All other considerations should not interest us as decent law-abiding end-users.

Only complicating factor is that there seems a cyberwar going on and we all are somehow in the midst of it.

I wish you a good weekend,

Politics regardless of the flavor is still a bitter pill.  :(

Hi bob3160,

But politics or no-politics the general infrastructure security situation is deteriorating faster than ever experienced.

Just another mega-data-breach cloud leak to-day: https://www.upguard.com/breaches/cloud-leak-dow-jones

Once trusted reliable "American" global Internet security, but what is happening to it now?????  :o :-[

This will eventually  end into a "global"drama. It sure wil i.m.h.o.

I have seen too much lately of pure holed, exploitable, insecure, compromitted, suspicious and malicious websites.

It is almost like they let "Wreck-It Ralph" loose onto the Interwebs,
and he is demolishing everything that comes in sight.  ;D
