Title: Avast blocking unknown URL
Post by: pdfbt40 on July 18, 2017, 11:14:29 PM
About every 3 hours Avast is blocking an attempt to access a long URL saying it is a dangerous destination.  Checking the first part of the address returns that the registration has expired.

However, whilst Avast is possibly keeping me safe unneccesarily, I have no idea what programme, service or add-on is causing this regular behaviour.  Scans by Avast don't produce any hits.  I've tried searching for strings from the URL using Windows Explorer.
Looking at the history of programmes has revealed no programs I don't recognise and the calendar of installation has been totally wrecked by a Windows 10 upgrade a couple of weeks ago that due to instability had to be rolled back !!

As I said i'm using Windows 10

Windows 10 Home
Firefox Browser

'Dangerous URL' (Partial)  sv8zz.greatpromo.0521.pics/?

What should I try next to remove this.

TIA
