Title: Firefox Plugin not recognised
Post by: REDACTED on July 23, 2017, 02:52:16 PM
Hi, I have seen a few posts on this - but I have not been able to find a workaround.

- If I go to Settings / Passwords and under browser integration it says for Firefox "Extension not installed".
- I hit the install button it loads the plugin installer in Firefox, I allow it to run and then it tells me it has successfully installed.
- Back on Avast screen it still says "Extension not installed" and there is no Passwords icon in Firefox browser.
- If I look at my add ons screen in Firefox it says that passwords is installed though so really not sure what's going on.
- By way of a test I installed Chrome and the extension installed with no issues at all.....any ideas?

Thanks,
Luke

Try the workaround: https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=204983.msg1406268#msg1406268

Hi thanks for your reply.

The workaround produces the same result - it says it has successfully installed onto my browser, but there is nothing there and Avast doesn't recognise.

Yeah, Chrome is installed and the app is working fine.

I have attached screenshots of the add-in section on Firefox and Avast screen.

If the Chrome workaround does not solve the problem, you could try this:
- Uninstall Firefox (back up bookmarks first)
- Reinstall a version of Firefox that Avast recognizes (version 52.0.1 is reported to work)
  https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/
- Install Avast Passwords via the standard procedure (Privacy -> Passwords)
- Test to make sure it works
- Update Firefox to the latest version
